This week's jazz cd pick is Destination Out by Jackie McLean. Although this cd only features four tracks it is another great Blue Note release meant for the serious jazz fan.
This cd features Jackie on alto sax as well as Bobby Hutcherson on vibes, Grachan Moncur III on trombone, Roy Haynes on drums and Larry Ridley on bass. This recording made in 1963 is not for everyone as it lacks the piano usually used in jazz however Bobby Hutcherson's vibes fill up the space perfectly.
