You all may have noticed that I have been conspicuously silent during this round of the NBA playoffs. My beloved Purple and Gold (Lakers) have frustrated me to no end with their Jekyll and Hide performance and their failure to show up for big games. My idle threats of taking a swan dive off of Suicide Bridge in Pasadena (see photo) was just that, an idle threat. You all know that SAXOMAN wouldn't deprive his many readers of their daily fix and reading material. No way. I'm sure you all couldn't live without my witty insight into life right? Besides, hurting yourself over a sporting event is pretty silly and something maybe those nutty soccer fans would do. HAHA!
Anyway, now that this series has ended my beloved LAKERS are going to the NBA Finals and we are planning on winning it all this time!

I second that Saxoman, Go Lakers! I will always root for my Hometeam. But was spoiled in the 80's with Showtime when you could actually afford to go to a game and mingle with Magic, Worthy, Coop (from 'Dena no less). My brother is 6'7", so we could always sneak in and hobnob!
ReplyDeleteThe Lakers are enough to give you a nervous breakdown, but I enjoy them giving teams a spankin' when they're on all cylinders. And it drives me nuts when they don't show up! Lamar, are you listening????

YEAH, IN THE 80'S I THINK I USED TO PAY LIKE $6 TO SIT UP AGAINST THE BACK WALL AT THE FORUM (BY THE CHAMPIONSHIP BANNERS) AND YES I WENT TO HIGH SCHOOL WITH COOP (AND VAN HALEN TOO!). I RECENTLY WENT TO STAPLES CENTER AND AGAIN SAT AGAINST THE BACK WALL. THIS TIME THOUGH IT WAS $80 A TICKET. WHOOO! AMEN TO THE COMMENTS ABOUT LAMAR. I JUST HOPE HE SHOWS UP FOR THE FINALS!
